Accounts
Tabs run Claude Code under an account. Out of the box that’s the one Claude Code is signed in to, as in a terminal. If you have a personal plan and a work API key, you can add the key to Claudette and choose, folder by folder and tab by tab, which account runs where.
This chapter covers your Claude sign-in and the header’s account menu, adding API-key accounts, choosing a folder’s account, moving a tab to another one and what that costs, and how the header shows an API key’s estimated spend.
In this chapter
- Your Claude sign-inClaude Code keeps your Claude credentials, not Claudette.
- API-key accountsAn API-key account lets a tab run Claude Code on an API key instead of your Claude sign-in.
- A folder's accountEach folder group in the sidebar has an account that its new tabs run under.
- Moving a tab to another accountYou can move a tab that's open to another account and carry on with the same conversation.
- Spend and its warningsAn API key has no plan limits, so there's nothing for the usage meters to measure.
